Brailes Village Hall was a great success for the new Plant Sale Venue this year.
Well it worked…Our move to Brailes was slightly concerning for one of our most popular events….. but Brailes Village Hall was a perfect venue, with ample parking and spotlessly clean – thank you Lisa Bryan. Our marvellous supporters did attend and thoroughly enjoyed this excellent Plant Sale for yet another year!
I would like to mention and thank, my very dear friend Pat Ames, 90 years old this May, for suggesting that we had a Plant sale to raise funds for SHN 22 years ago, what a story. Jo Ames helps at the Plant sale and now works as a HCA with our Nurses.
Thank you all for your delicious biscuits, sponge cakes, jams, marmalade’s, chutney’s, rhubarb, brownies, herbs, granola, we had everything on the Produce stall! – It raised a whopping £400. My grateful thanks to Nicola and Jane Cussons for running the stall.
Then we had the most amazing, beautiful plants and vegetables known to any keen gardener! To help speed things along our payment ladies were in a separate marquee which worked brilliantly thank you to Fudge and Patrick for the loan of the marquee.
Thank you also to our volunteers – David the “box man” Patrick, Katie and Charlie who sold raffle tickets and Percy, Jasper and Mike who organised the car parking! Thank you team….you are all truly brilliant.
My enormous thanks to Caroline and Fudge especially, for putting this popular event on for another year. The community know that we will have superb plants and delicious produce. A reputation we have maintained for many years.
The grand total raised was £3062.10
We are all delighted, and are grateful for all the hard work that goes into this event and its success, thank you all so much
