“A wonderful audience and so generous throughout the night.”
Everyone is familiar with the old television series Call my Bluff. Simon Miesegaes, Trustee of Shipston Home Nursing decided to add wine, plus a panel of three local radio and television personalities to a fundraising idea.
180 supporters, with picnics, all eager to taste the wines from Sheldon’s Wine Cellars of Shipston-on-Stour filled the Sheldon Bosley Hub. The combination was a complete success.
Richard Phillips, Racehorse trainer led proceedings and was the Chairman and Auctioneer for the evening.
Our superb panel Mark Pougatch, BBC 5live Sports Report and (Ashes) breakfast presenter, Cornelius Lysaght BBC Racing correspondent and Beverley Cressman, QVC Channel Guest Presenter entertained the guests thoroughly.
Many thanks to Sheldon’s Wine Cellars for their generous sponsorship and time. Behind the scenes, 910 glasses were poured and washed up over the 5 wines tasted and a further 360 glasses for the tables!.
Many thanks to our nurses for their work and raffle ticket selling skills and Dan Ridd of Clearsound Productions, Shipston-on-Stour – the evening was nothing without the very best quality of sound.
The 6 lot Auction raised £3790 and the Raffle £1186. The total raised for the whole evening was an amazing £6,788!
We are so grateful to those who donated auction and raffle prizes.
