SUMMARY:National Garden Scheme in Ilmington
DESCRIPTION:A number of beautiful gardens will be opening in Ilmington over the weekend of 23rd – 24th May. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nIlmington is an ancient hillside Cotswold village 2 miles from the Fosse Way. Start at Ilmington Manor (next to the Red Lion Pub); wander the 3 acre gardens with many roses\, much topiary and a fish pond. Next\, go up Grump Street\, above the Village Hall\, to Ravenscroft’s large\, sculpture-filled garden with sloping vistas commanding the hilltop. Walk to nearby Frog Lane to view Puddocks\, Frog Orchard’s and The Studio’s delightful gardens then down\, via Old Fox House at the bottom of Foxcote Hill\, to the Bevington’s many-chambered cottage garden at the bottom of Valanders Lane. Finally visit the charming cottage gardens surrounding Meadow View and the large terraced garden of The Dower House in Back Street\, overlooking the Manor ponds and Berry Orchard. \n\n\n\nHome-made teas in Ilmington Community Shop\, Upper Green on Saturday\, and at the Village Hall on Sunday. A percentage of monies raised from teas and cake will be donated to Shipston Home Nursing. \n\n\n\nShipston Home Nursing will be running the teas on Sunday at Ilmington Village Hall\, if you are interested in helping or are able to bake a cake or two\, please contact us on 01608 664 850 or at fundraising@shipstonhomenursing.co.uk \n\n\n\nPre-booking for this event is available on the NGS website here \n\n\n\nIlmington\, Shipston on Stour\, Warwickshire\, CV36 4LA. SUMMARY:Walton Hall 10k Fun Run / Walk
DESCRIPTION:Our annual 10k at Walton Hall returns this October! Whether you’re a keen runner or prefer a leisurely countryside walk\, this is the perfect event for you. \n\n\n\nWalton Hall is a 16th century mansion set in 65 acres of glorious countryside overlooking a lake. Walk or run the route through nearby woods\, into the village of Walton and back to the Hall. \n\n\n\nOnce again\, we will be offering electronic race timing for runners and the all-important bacon (or vegetarian) roll at the finish line for all entrants! \n\n\n\nEnter as an individual\, or gather a group of friends or colleagues to enter as a team. When you register you can also set up your own fundraising page which enables friends and family to support you and Shipston Home Nursing.  \n\n\n\nRegistration from 8.45am – Start 10am \n\n\n\nPre-register for a discounted entry fee! \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPLEASE NOTE: This event is cross country with sections of road. \n\n\n\nSet in the grounds of Walton Hall Hotel by kind permission of Sir Andrew Hamilton and Walton Hall. \n\n\n\nRoute subject to change depending on weather conditions. \n\n\n\nAll children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. \n\n\n\nThis event is not suitable for pushchairs. Dogs are welcome but on a lead please. \n\n\n\nShipston Home Nursing will be taking photographs at this event. These images will be used by Shipston Home Nursing to share news about the event\, and to publicise our future fundraising events. Images may be used in press releases\, printed publicly and published on the Shipston Home Nursing website. They will be stored securely\, and we will delete them after they are no longer needed for publicity purposes.
