Join Elizabeth and her fellow walkers for an early evening walk in Whichford.
Date:             Thursday 4th May
Meeting at:Â Â Â Â The Norman Knight pub, Whichford
Time: Walk starts promptly 6pm
Parking: The pub has limited parking for patrons and there is plenty of street parking
Our route takes us up the hill through a meadow with a short steepish and narrow path right at the top. We skirt a field with views down towards Whichford before entering the wood and walking about half a mile through the wood where the bluebells are just coming out. We make our way back through fields and a bridle path with views of the hills to the south then back down the Banbury road to the pub. The distance is approximately 3 miles and should take about an hour and a half. There are no stiles and, as of last week, no sheep, horses or cows.
Please make sure you arrive in time for us to set off promptly at 6pm as last orders at the pub restaurant are 7.45pm.Â
Note also that the meadow may be wet and the paths through the wood are likely to be muddy so appropriate footwear is recommended!
Staying to eat or have a drink after the walk is entirely optional but the Norman Knight has a good reputation at the moment so if you haven’t been there for a while it might worth a try. It is also very popular so I do need to book for us. Please therefore let Elizabeth know (e_searle@btinternet.com or 07876 681846) by 12 noon on Wednesday 3rd :
(a) Whether you intend to join the walk
(b)Â Â Â Whether you wish to eat at the pubÂ
