As much as we love this sunshine… it’s just too hot to walk, for us and for our canine friends. So, unfortunately, this evening’s SHN walk is cancelled. We’ll be back. In the meantime, we hope you enjoy a chilled glass of something in the shade.

Join Richard and the team for an early evening walk from Combrook, starting outside St Mark and Margaret church (CV35 9HP) and heading to Compton Verney.

Celebrate the summer with friends and family with this delightful child-friendly off-road walk around the two lakes, the gardens, designed by Capability Brown in 1771, and the stunning house designed by Robert Adam (just two roads to cross).

The walk is a three mile circular route, from Combrook on public footpaths around the Compton Verney lakes. Half way there are great views from the Old Town Wildflower Meadow across the Adam Bridge towards Compton Verney House. You’ll then return through woodland to Combrook.

There is plenty of on street parking. We’ll head off at 6pm and the walk should end by 7.30pm. There are options to shorten if required, and only two small climbs.

Refreshments afterwards at The Chequers in Ettington (CV37 7SR) at 7.45pm, for those that would like to eat.
