April walk for SHN

Our SHN walks are back, making the most of the blue sky with a 6pm start this Thursday 9th April. Join John and his fellow walkers, starting from the car park at the Cherington Arms, for a 75-90 minute circular walk, setting out westwards from the pub for some 150 yards before crossing onto farmland.
The first two fields have sheep and lambs. We continue on to Weston Mill and skirt round the buildings to bear right and see the grand Weston Oak avenue on our left. We then turn away from the avenue and head over fields before crossing the river passing through another field of sheep. Once over the river we turn left to rejoin our original path back to the pub.
There are no styles, mainly galvanised metal kissing gates and farm gates. The bridge requires care as you will see but serves its purpose. The forecast for Thursday looks as though there is a chance of patchy showers from lunch time, the threat of which looks as if it recedes later in the afternoon. We walked the course on Sunday evening dry shod without the need of wellingtons! The forecast for Thursday is a 50+% chance of showers in the afternoon which should have cleared by the time we are walking!
Please let John know by Wednesday at 1pm if you would like to join us and whether you would like to stay for something to eat at the Cherington Arms.
