Just under 2 and 3/4 miles • easy walking with 5 styles (dog friendly)
Join John Dudbridge and his fellow walkers for the first of our evening walks this year. Following the change to British Summer Time, walks from April to October will once again make the most of the ‘light’ evenings.
We will start from the Coach and Horses in Longborough, meeting outside the pub and leaving at 6pm. As it is early in the season and sun set is approximately 7.45pm, we need to crack on! Parking is limited so, coming from Moreton and the Fosse Way, proceed up the village street. Some 150 yards short of the pub the road widens near the school and from there up to the corner opposite the pub and just around the corner there should be enough spaces.
The walk starts just across the street from the Coach and Horses and sets off towards Sezincote on the Heart of England Way, then turns down the Monarch’s Way and back towards the village and the Coach and Horses. We walked it today and thoroughly enjoyed the pub, its atmosphere and the food offering.
The walk is largely level, At the moment there are sheep about (we imagine they may be away to lamb in side soon) and today the cattle were not turned out. Mostly grass tracks and hard farm roads with a a couple of arable fields. There are some muddy bits! The five or so styles are in good condition and dog friendly.
We look forward to seeing you and we recommend the pub. It would help greatly if you could let me know if a) you are coming-numbers b) you are staying for food. Email: john.dudbridge@sky.com
