Join John and his fellow walkers this Thursday at 5:45pm for a 6pm start, starting from the Tythe Barn in Swalcliffe, which is just to the west of the church in the centre of the village.
This is an attractive, fairly level walk of just over 2 miles, mostly across fields and tracks. The walk starts at the centre of the village and heads north towards the old Roman Road, along which we’ll head eastwards before looping back before the slopes of Madmarston Hill, the site of an iron Age Fort (circa 200 BC) and a nearby Romano British settlement.
Please let John know (email john.dudbridge@yahoo.com or 01608 685 236) by Tuesday evening:
(a) If you intend to join the walk
(b) If you would like to stay and eat at The Stags Head after the walk.
If the weather continues as it has been it will be dry underfoot, making it perfect ambling weather!
