Sponsor our Nurses

A monthly gift to Shipston Home Nursing will enable our team to continue to care for patients in their own homes. Each year we need to raise around £550,000 to fund our hospice at home service. This year our NHS grant will cover just 7% of our costs.

Our nurses and healthcare assistants are at the heart of our hospice at home service. They are experienced in palliative care, focusing on symptom control and personal care to provide the best possible end of life support to patients, their families and carers.

Meet some of our nursing team

Gemma leads our team of nurses and healthcare assistants. She is a registered nurse whose passion is in palliative care. “I am incredibly proud to be part of such an exceptionally caring and patient focused team. Each and every member of staff goes above and beyond for patients and their families.“

Sally-Ann is one of our registered nurses. “My job allows me to give as much time as needed to the patients and carers. If you can put yourself in someone else’s shoes you have a greater understanding of how they feel.”

Ali is one of our healthcare assistants. “I have worked for SHN for a few years.  It feels really good to work for a local charity, supporting local communities. It’s an organisation that is at the heart of our towns and villages and it’s lovely being part of our patients and families lives.”

How your gift could help

Your donation could help fund:

• A home visit from a Nurse Coordinator to assesses a new patient’s symptoms and help them plan for the future.
• A night stay by a nurse to provide symptom control and emotional support to the family.
• A personal care or respite visit by a healthcare assistant.
• A bereavement counselling session with our trained counsellor.
