Join John and his fellow walkers for an early evening walk in Clifford Chambers.

Date:               Tuesday 6th June

Meeting at:     Clifford Chambers Church.

Time:               Walk starts promptly at 5:45 pm 

Parking:           There is street parking or spaces at the New Inn.

Our route takes us along the river all the way upstream to Preston. Interestingly the Business Park at Atherstone occupies the same site as the WWII Airfield. We follow Shakespeare’s Way past Atherstone Church (here the shorter route diverges at point C to return to Clifford Chambers by a parallel path at points F-G) to Preston. Alscot Park House lies down to the left, which was acquired by James West in the mid 18th Century; his descendants still own and manage the estate. In Preston we walk to the right round the church and down to the road turning left to walk up Atherstone hill to enjoy the grand views. We follow the road downhill to point F and follow the path back to Clifford Chambers.

The full walk is 3.5 miles long with some minor uphill road walking.

The shorter route is 2.25 miles, almost all on the flat.
