Our Walton Hall fun run takes place on Sunday 7th May. This year, the event is sponsored by Voneus Broadband, who are also entering a team.
Damian, Heather, Sean and Zoe have rallied together to grab their trainers and join in the fun to raise money for Shipston Home Nursing.
Leading the running pack is Heather Thompson from their Community Engagement Team who originally joked about taking part but quickly rose to the challenge to lead the team through the course.
Heather has been working for Voneus for three years and has been out about with her team in the Shipston and wider Banbury area to meet the residents and helping to support charitable causes.
Heather said, ‘I’m no runner but I wanted to give this a go as a personal goal to complete 5K, to run with amazing colleagues and raise money for a truly wonderful cause.’
Damian Rees who works in Heather’s team has chosen to be the front runner to keep morale high in the team and ensure everyone gets over the finish line!
Sean Kelly is the Senior Area Build Manager helping to provide ultrafast broadband to rural communities in the Shipston and Banbury. Sean served in the military so will be putting the team through their paces in the lead up to day (go easy Sean!).
Zoe Day, Head of the Voneus Community Engagement is often travelling up and down the country to meet communities, parish and local councils but typically in her car, so she’s looking forward to meeting new faces along the way with her trainers on and to enjoy a cuppa at the end.
At Shipston Home Nursing, we would like to thank Voneus Broadband for all their support. We look forward to cheering you on! If you would like to sponsor their team, please click here.
