Our Walk book Champion Ian McConnel has decided to hang up his walking boots after 20 years promoting and organising walks from the “20 walks in Shipston Country” book.
We cannot thank Ian enough for all that he has done for the Charity, in true spirit and enjoyment for everyone involved.
Ian you are going to be a hard act to follow.
Many, many thanks for all your time and generosity we will miss you.

From its introduction more than 20 years ago, this fantastic book of walks has raised well over £30,000 and Ians contribution building relationships with the local pubs, restaurants and business to sell the books for us, has helped enormously.
He organised seasonal local walks with a rewarding lunch or early supper for the group.
The Walk book is currently available online from our website here https://www.shipstonhomenursing.co.uk/shop/ where it is flying off the shelves.
When we can shop again, you can find it in local businesses, pubs and medical centres in and around Shipston.
I am looking for another volunteer to take on Ian’s excellent work, plus someone who would organise “walks” once a month, starting at a local pub, walking for an hour or so and then ending off with a get together over a meal and drink.
Ian has been ”working” for SHN for the last 10 years. Ian thoughtfully offered to help after he had retired from Savills. His enthusiasm in selling the walk books at all our pubs and restaurants over so many years has increased the sales hugely. Ian then decided to organise walks, in the morning during the Winter months and in the evening during the Summer.
Everyone loved this social get together and at the same time getting some exercise, ending at a pub for a delicious meal and a well deserved drink!
